I Started Paddling Because:
I was looking for the next after doing an Iron Man

Best Paddling Experience to Date:
Loch Ness at 3AM? Cuba to USA in 8-14 Ft wind swept seas? 10 MPH tide ride to Scotland from Ireland? Always solo around Key West

Favorite Thing About Paddling:
Catching the red ball come up out of the ocean in the AM 3 miles out

Alban Cornic


Name: Alban Cornic
Hometown: Concarneau – Britany – North West of France

Age: 38
Years Paddling: 4 years. In october 2004, I ‘ve crossed in windsurfing the Pailolo Channel, between Maui and Molokaî, and I met two paddlers in the middle of this channel. The next day, I found this two guys on the beach in Maui and I was able to tried. It was great !

Between 30 – 40 on the unlimited or 30 – 40 on the OC1

18’4 this year. In 09, I hope a new Bark

Favorite Paddle route:
Concarneau to Archipelago Les Glénans and come back (20 milles). The tour of almost ile of Crozon (15 miles).

That’s a toughy… either the Pleasure Point kelp circuit with some downwind runs outside the kelp and a protected upwinder back home inside the kelp or a paddle/bodysurf session just north of town at a spot called…………..

Jay Race and the Wilder Coast Downwind Run from 4mile to SC Harbor.

I Started Paddling Because:
Some of our workouts for lifeguarding included paddling a 10’6” mixed in with run-swim-runs.  It also helped keep me in shape for surfing….then Tim O’Donnell let me borrow his Bark Unlimited board and I was hooked.

Best Paddling Experience to Date:
2008 Catalina Classic: paddling for the Ocean of Hope Campaign, as it brought a whole new meaning to paddling.  I also had a great boat crew, got to see plenty of wildlife, and paddled next to Rueben who kept me laughing.
