Malibu Downwinder '25

Back again with one of our favorite races on the calendar every year - and 2025 was particularly special. After an extremely tough winter for the Malibu community with devastating wildfires, we were stoked we could all still enjoy a day on the water together.

One of these years we will get some solid downwind, but yet again the weather didn't exactly cooperate. The morning saw a downpour of rain and an unusual south wind - not ideal for this course. But the sun came out and paddlers embraced the back washy side-chop conditions.

Near the end of the race, paddlers managed to sneak a few decent runners, followed by a challenging rock dance and wave dodge to exit the water. Stoked to see you all out there and will catch you at the next.
